MAIN TANK CIRCULATION
All pumps are controlled by a Sandpoint wavemaker. When the left MaxiJet cycles on, water is blown against the front of the tank and to the right. Water currents from this powerhead tend to drive surface water to the skimmer box shown in red.

When the right MaxiJet cycles on, water is blown against the front and towards the left side. This powerhead is also pointed slightly upwards to produce surface agitation.

TOP VIEW: RIGHT MAXIJET ONLY
When both MaxiJets cycle on, the two opposing currents meet at the front of the tank and then crash towards the back of the tank producing a strong current down the center of the tank.

The wavemaker turns on the pumps in the following pattern:

PUMP 3

Pumps 1 and 2 produce the currents in the Main Tank.
Pump 3 sends water to the refugium/propagation tray.
